City officials presided Tuesday over an 18,000-square-foot expansion of the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center, a private, non-profit health site in the Illinois Medical District that has acknowledged being overwhelmed by its patient intake.
Under an expansion slated to finish in December, CCAC, located at 1240 S. Damen Ave., will ramp up efforts to train the community in identifying signs of sexual and physical abuse – with the intention of increasing the number of reported incidents, according to Audrey Eisenberg, chief external affairs officer for the CCAC.
