Marathon mania

An estimated 45,000 participants are expected to race through 26.2 miles of the city’s streets during the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Sunday.

For those planning to watch the event, DNAinfo Chicago published a helpful interactive map of the race route. The map highlights “significant race points,” local businesses hosting race parties, and some prime viewing locations.

The race is scheduled to begin in Grant Park at 7:20 a.m. with the Marathon Wheelchair Start, according to ChicagoMarathon.com. The final heat – Wave 2 – will start at 8 a.m.

Presidential drive

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is reportedly mulling a 2016 presidential run, and one Chicago woman has started a public campaign to promote a ticket featuring Clinton and an unlikely running mate.

Laurel Kate Sittig, who works as an editor at an online photography equipment store, wants Clinton’s running mate to be pop diva Beyoncé, according to The Hill. Sittig has printed and begun selling bumper stickers that read, “Hillary/Beyoncé 2016.”

“I think Hillary [Clinton] is an amazing person, and I was like, well, who would run with Hillary?” Sittig explained. “Then I thought, Beyoncé’s pretty cool. And she has that song, ‘Run the World (Girls).’ So I thought she’d be down to, like, help run the world — or the U.S. at least.”
