State Treasurer Mike Frerichs is the very bullish on Illinois.  The former state senator from Champaign sees the state’s diversity as one of the strongest attributes. “Folks in Southern Illinois are different than folks in Western Illinois.  Folks in Chicago are different from folks in Champaign,” the state treasurer said. “By and large, they get along together and they coexist. I’m always learning something new and really feel as if this is a diverse melting pot.”

City Club panel stresses importance of human services in midst of budget crisis

Born and raised in west suburban Clarendon Hills, Doig moved to the city after graduating from Wheaton College. He began his career at the Lawndale Christian Development Corporation. Doig went on to serve as Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Housing and then as the superintendent of the Chicago Park District from 1999 to 2004.

Regional Transportation Authority Board of Directors Chairman Kirk Dillard on Monday said his organization is “cautiously optimistic” that president-elect Donald Trump has an infrastructure plan that includes his organization.

Dillard leads an organization that oversees the second largest public transportation system in the U.S. The RTA serves 8 million residents in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will Counties.
