The Public Building Commission on Tuesday approved a request from the Chicago Park District to coordinate the purchase of $1.8 million in playground equipment for 38 park locations in the city.
The project marks the initiation of Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s Chicago Plays, a program operated by the Chicago Park District in partnership with Friends of the Parks that seeks to replace the playground equipment in 300 playgrounds across the city over the next five years.
