Preckwinkle outlines 2015 county budget at City Club

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle at a Thursday City Club of Chicago event spoke of her efforts to balance the county’s 2015 budget.

The county has projected a 2015 budget shortfall of $169 million, according to Preckwinkle. Despite the gap, next year’s proposed budget marks a stark improvement compared to years past. The county has shrunk its projected deficit by $300 million from Preckwinkle’s first budget four years ago, the county board president said.
