Chicago’s Department of Streets and Sanitation Commissioner Charles Williams, during a speech at the City Club of Chicago on Monday, outlined a number of cost-saving measures the department has undertaken since he came on as commissioner last October.

Chicago City Clerk Susana Mendoza at a Tuesday City Club of Chicago luncheon touted her efforts to increase government transparency in the city and streamline its vehicle registration process in her role as Chicago’s head record keeper.

The Chicago Infrastructure Trust Board of Directors on Wednesday discussed plans to hire Piper Jaffray as the placement agent for the Retrofit One energy savings project. In that role, the company would help finance $27.5 million in energy efficiency upgrades of city buildings.
