City Council committee advances Summers’ appointment

The City Council Finance Committee on Monday approved Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s appointment of Kurt Summers as the next city treasurer. If approved by the full City Council, Summers’ appointment is set to take effect on Dec. 1.

“Good luck and good health in your tenure in office,” Finance Committee Chairman Ed Burke (14th) told Summers after the committee advanced the appointment.
