The City Council on Wednesday approved the Single-Room Occupancy Preservation Ordinance. Sponsors designed the measure to help maintain the city’s stock of one-room, low-cost housing units, which are often inhabited by veterans, students, senior citizens, the disabled and the mentally-ill.
