Phish flop. The City Club of Chicago is a civic organization that caters to those interested in government and business – but apparently the group does not include many fans of the band Phish. During his speech at a City Club luncheon Tuesday, Chicago Park District General Superintendent and CEO Michael Kelly told the audience that Jimmy Buffet and Phish are playing shows at Northerly Island this summer. When Kelly asked how many Phish fans were in the room, he was met with mostly silence and some muffled laughter.

Good taste. The city of Chicago on Friday announced the 35 restaurants that will participate in the 33rd annual Taste of Chicago, taking place July 10 through July 14 in Grant Park. Among the participants are Lou Malnati’s, The Smoke Daddy and Billy Goat Inn.

Bike kind of town. Chicago was ranked No. 10 on Seattle-based real estate data site Walk Score’s list of the country’s most bikeable large cities. Chicago scored a 61.5 out of 100 based on criteria including terrain, amount of bike lanes, and number of bikers on the street. America’s most bikeable large city, according to Walk Score, is Portland, Ore., which scored 70.3 out of 100.

Chicago Community Trust stays put. The Chicago Community Trust President and CEO Terry Mazany poked fun at Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts during a Thursday City Club of Chicago event. Before delving in to his insightful “state of the community address,” Mazany was sure to clear the air of any inaccuracies that may have been flying around about his organization. “I’m also here to dispel the rumor that The Chicago Community Trust is moving out into the suburbs," he joked. "There is no news to be made today on that note.”
