Jimmy Fallon is scheduled to participate with Mayor Rahm Emanuel in Special Olympics Chicago’s Polar Plunge fundraiser on Sunday, and the mayor this week gave some pointers to the host of NBC’s “The Tonight Show.” "I said [to Fallon], one, sunblock 30 you don't need, two, don't bring your Speedo, three, sunglasses and a lawn chair also not necessary," Emanuel recounted on Wednesday, according to the Chicago Tribune.

From NBC Chicago: Giordano’s Pizza plans to begin serving pizza on the Willis Tower’s Skydeck and The Ledge under a new partnership. Service is available seven days a week after normal hours of operation, but patrons must book reservations at least two business days ahead of time.

A piece of the ‘action!’

From DNAinfo Chicago: Cook County records revealed that a 3,000-square-foot space located at 1514 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Wicker Park was acquired by House Music LLC, a venture of Newcastle Limited, for $1.4 million on Feb. 7. The store’s façade was used for exterior shots of the fictional record store “Championship Vinyl” in the movie “High Fidelity,” starring John Cusack. Newcastle Limited has not yet lined up a tenant for the property that was previously owned by a Deborah Marie Peterson.

The 2014 Chicago Irish Film Festival kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the Gallery Theatre with a showing of “Get the Picture?” – a documentary on the iconic, 98-year-old photo editor John G. Morris.

Venues throughout the city will host showings as part of the festival, which runs through March 8. Some of the fest’s films include: “The Good Man,” a feature film in which, through a twist of fate, two men from different worlds examine their lives; “The Irish Pub,” a documentary on Irish pubs and culture; and “Stalker,” a feature film depicting a broken man’s acts of redemption.
