The Chicago Board of Elections has begun the process of updating 16th Ward ballots following the death on Monday of Chicago Alderman JoAnn Thompson (16th), who was seeking reelection to a third term on the City Council.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel and former Mayor Richard M. Daley dined together earlier this week, leading Crain’s Chicago Business’ Greg Hinz to speculate that the current mayor may soon receive a public endorsement from his predecessor.
